I have read several books on fibromyalgia over the past 1 1/2 years and found many of them to be either blaming or unrealistic. This book resonated with me because the author told the truth about her experience and didn’t try to act like she had the magic wand to cure this devastating illness. She did share what many of us experience, that dealing with fibromyalgia is a lot of trial and error and hope and disappointment.

IT BEGAIN WHEN MY NEIGHBOR CAME OVER TO ASK ME IF I HAD HEARD ABOUT THE BOOK WRITTEN BY A WOMAN ON FIBROMYALGIA AND HAD PUT THIS BOOK OUT IN HER OWM WORDS ABOUT THE PAIN OF FIBROMYALGIA AND HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE IT AND DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS. MY NEIGHBOR BOUGHT THE BOOK ON AMAZON.COM. SHE HADN’T EVEN GOTTEN THROUGH THE WHOLE BOOK YET BUT COULDN’T WAIT FOR ME TO SEE IT BECAUSE SHE KNOWS HOW I SUFFER WITH THE CONDITION. I READ THE FIRST 2 OR 3 CHAPTERS AND I WAS STUNNED. I TOLD MY NEIGHBOR THIS WOMAN IS WRITING ABOUT ME. THE MORE I READ I KNEW I HAD TO GET THIS BOOK. LINDA WROTE IN WORDS THAT COULD BE UNDERSTOOD AND THIS IS VERY IMPORANT TO ME. SHE SAID THERE IS NO CURE FOR THIS CONDITION BUT WROTE ON TO HELP US TO ADJUST OUR LIVES TO LIVE WITH IT.
I LOVED THE BOOK SO MUCH AND READ PARTS OF IT EVERY DAY. I KNOW THERE IS MANNY PEOPLE IN THE PARK WHERE I LIVE THAT SUFFER WITH THIS CONDITION. I WROTE A NOTE AND PUT IT IN THE REC. ROOM TELLING THEM TO GET ON THERE COMPUTERS, WHERE TO GO AND ORDER THIS BOOK. ALSO IF THEY DO NOT OWN A COMPUTER I INVITED THEM TO COME TO MY HOME TO USE MINE. WITHIN A FEW DAYS 9 PEOPLE I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW CAME DOWN TO ORDER THE BOOK. THIS BOOK IS THE HIT OF THE PARK. THANK YOU LINDA, YOUR BOOK IS HELPING ALOT OF PEOPLE IN PARRISH FL.

This intelligent book had me from page one! Be prepared to step into LInda Meilink’s shoes (you won’t be dancing) and follow her incredible, yet heart-wrenching spiral-down journey into the world of fibromyalgia. Meilink is brutally honest about how debilitating and misunderstood this disease actually is. She underscores how even well-intentioned MD’s miss the mark on FMS, which in turn, keeps people misinformed and perhaps even misdiagnosed. Although there are treatments that can be beneficial to FMS sufferers, Meilink points out that there is no cure, and no magic one size fits all pill (got that big pharma?) She does not provide panaceic snake oils in her book, so if that’s what you are looking for, then this isn’t the book for you. She’s dogged FMS very well. I truly felt her pain.

My Mother has Fibromyalgia and our whole family has read this book. We now have a better understanding of what she lives with daily. I highly recommend reading this if you know ANYONE who lives with this!
