I know this thing looks crazy–but it is so wonderful. I have had mine for 15 years, approximately. The steel or metal construction lasts forever. And although it looks odd, the shape allows for you to move it slightly in the front, increasing or decreasing pressure applied to your body. I use it on my back–especially if there is one spot that is tight or sore. But it also feels good on your back even if you aren’t sore.

This also makes such a great gift because it isn’t something most people would think to get for themselves. And because it doesn’t require strength, it is great for older people, especially if they live alone and don’t have anyone to rub their back.

I had one of these given to me in the 80′s and I still have it and use it all the time. Great, simple design. I’m going to buy more for gifts and I’m leery of the new improved version that comes apart for travel. This one is steel bodied and looks to last forever.
