Sue sent me her book to review a few years back, (I am a FMS support group education coordinator) and this is a book that can be any of us writing it. It is the words we try to use when seeking medical attention to something that just will not go away and stay away. Yet, there are a multitude of medical professionals out there who STILL say it is in our heads, not our bodies. For those who do not understand or profess those of us WITH FMS are FAKEs, they have failed society as well as their oath of compassion they so declared when adding MD behind their name.

Sue’s book is the FRIEND you so want–in the words you read, you understand. You weep for yourself and others, maybe joy, maybe sadness–of something being understood by someone else–without spoken words. Yes, it won’t go away, but through understand that it is real, you give yourself validation. At that point, you can set forth to make each day a little bit better and brighter for yourself. You have setbacks, but you know tomorrow, the sun may shine again for you.

  2. I have read so many books and this is one of the BEST I’ve read so far. It is short, but means so much to the person reading it who themself has Fibro/Chronic Fatigue Crap (as I call it in frustration). The wording is just wonderful and the timing of my purchase of this book was right on. I was in the process of attempting to fill out my Disability Appeal and the wording in this book helped open up my fibrofog mind and get done what I needed to!! Thanks for this Great book!! This book was so great. It was wonderful to hear someone else put into words what I had been feeling for a long time. The author’s poems were nice. It would be great for loved ones to read too. It is so hard to explain how fibromyalgia feels. This book says it all. If you have fibro or know someone who does you should read this book. It’s not a medical book. It’s a personal story.

It wasn’t quite what I expected but it is a very easy and understandable read. There are some hints for things to try and it may work for some. It is a story about one persons trials and sufferings from a very invisible illness. The second thing it did for me is helped be get over some depression and made me feel better about myself. It was refreshing to hear I’m not the only one with some symptoms and helped me realize it’s not my fault or in my head. If you get a chance to read this book, I highly recommend it, especially if you are having doubts about yourself.
